Ein Interview mit Jim Wingate

Einer langen Tradition folgend gastierte am 27. April 2010 der Storyteller Jim Wingate aus Wales an unserem Gymnasium  und erzählte spannende Geschichten für unsere 5. und zwei 6. Klassen sowie für die 6. Klassen der Realschule. Einige SchülerInnen der Klasse 6 m interviewten Jim Wingate in der Pause und zeichneten das Interview auf:

Jim, may we ask you some questions ?

   Yes, of course.
  1. Jim, where are you from and where do you live?
    I come from the north of Scotland, but I live in Wales in the mountains near the sea.
  2. Tell us something about your hometown, please.
    I live in a very small village with 50 people, it isn%u2019t a town. But the nearest town is a good town. It has good cinemas, good theatres, good restaurants, very good music and lots of concerts.
  3. Where did you go to school?
    I went to school in the north of Scotland, in a castle.
  4. Have you got any pets at home?
    Yes, I%u2019ve got four black cats.
  5. What are your hobbies?
    I love reading, writing, walking in the mountains, cooking and eating,  and I love tea.
  6. What%u2019s your favourite colour?
    My favourite colour is a nice dark green.
  7. Have you ever broken a bone?
    Oh, yes, I%u2019ve broken my nose, my rib, my rib, my rib and my leg, my arm... actually it wasn%u2019t me; it was my friend, because when you play rugby%u2026
  8. Who or what gave you the idea of becoming a storyteller?
    You did! You gave me money! You all gave me money, it%u2019s a good idea.
  9. Since when have you been a story teller?
    Oh, for about 15 years and  I%u2019ve been a storyteller here in Marktoberdorf  for 11 years.
  10. How do you find your stories and when do you write them down?
     I never tell stories I%u2019ve read, only stories I%u2019ve heard. I never write them down.  That%u2019s an old tradition. So I%u2019ve to go to another storyteller and say %u201CTell me a story!%u201D  I tell him a story, he tells me a story and I get more stories.
  11.  Do you have another job besides storyteller?
     Yes, I write books for pupils in Austria and for teachers. I train teachers and speak at big conferences for 700 people, bla, bla, bla%u2026
  12. Which countries have you been to?
     Singapore, Japan, Uganda, Kenya, Egypt, Sudan, USA, Canada, Peru, Paraguay, Brazil, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Croatia, Hungary, Poland,  Slovenia, Slovakia, Greece, Turkey, Israel, Italy, Spain, Portugal, etc.  -  to 44  countries altogether.

  14. Do you like Germany?
     Yes, particularly Bavaria, I like the mountains, the lakes and the nice people.
